Heaven's M.A.G.I.C. was created by an elementary school teacher and her fifth grade
students at Immaculate Heart Academy in Oro Valley/Tucson, AZ on February 14, 2000:
It
is inclusive of all faiths, honors the First Amendment of the Constitution and can Pass the "Lemon Test"
•The Court's decision in this case established the "Lemon
test", which details the requirements for United States legislation concerning religion.
• It consists of three prongs:
The government's action must have a legitimate secular purpose;
•The
government's action must not have the primary effect of either advancing or inhibiting religion. The government's
action must not result in an "excessive entanglement" with religion.
Heaven's M.A.G.I.C. honors a Universal Faith through a Supreme Being (In God We
Trust) and His Messengers (Angels).
Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists all believe that Angels
are Messengers of God.
Heaven's M.A.G.I.C. encourages all of its members to practice their own individual
religious faith and be open and accepting to the faiths of others.

The Heaven's M.A.G.I.C. Board is responsible for
R.I.S.E. (Recruiting, Interviewing, Supervising and Evaluating) the L.I.G.H.T., the (Leading, Inspiring, Giving,
Helping, and Teaching) Heaven's M.A.G.I.C. Chapter Leaders.
Laura Ann Osterman Founder and President
Laura Ann Osterman is our Founder and President. She loves teaching and likes to vacation in serene places. She
continues to teach elementary education and has spent the past 10 years teaching. Six of those years were in Title I schools.
She and her fifth grade class at Immaculate Heart Academy Incorporated Heaven's M.A.G.I.C. on February 14, 2000.
She earned a B.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Arizona in 1991, a Post Baculaurete Elementary
Education Certificate from the University of Arizona in 1995, and an M.Ed. in Leadership from Northern Arizona University
in 2005.
In December of 2006 she was sent an opportunity to apply for a $500,000 matching grant from Theresa's
Fund. She combined her graduate studies and U.T.O.P.I.A. Project with a new project, the Theresa's Fund Loves
Heaven's M.A.G.I.C Project. The Theresa's Fund Loves Heaven's M.A.G.I.C. Project was designed by her after
she returned from the Theresa's Fund Luncheon in Phoenix, AZ.
Herstory......Laura is the great
great granddaughter of Henry and Margaret Lucke, Great granddaughter of Fred, Nellie Bohlman Lucke, and grand daughter
of Judge Anthony T. Deddens and Anita Lucke Deddens. If you are related to a Luke, you might be related to her.
While she was teaching at Immaculate Heart Academy Ms. Osterman and her students
were watching a video entitled "Mother Theresa's Magic Children." Ms. Osterman and her class decided to create
a community service organization to serve those who were less fortunate. On February 14, 2000 the students and Ms. Osterman
celebrated the incorporation of the 501c3 they had created. Unfortunately, circumstances changed and Ms. Osterman had to leave
the school and the organization that she and the students' created was not allowed to thrive and flourish. However, when
she was teaching in Title I schools, researching Service-Learning, and earning a M.Ed. Leadership she never lost
sight of the potential for the organization, its mission and vision. Seven years later Preston McMurry sent her an opportunity
for a $500,000 matching grant from Theresa's Fund. A Fund he created to eliminate abuse in all forms. Upon returning from
a luncheon where Mr. McMurry said a prayer for her organization, Ms. Osterman designed the Theresa's Fund Loves Heaven's
M.A.G.I.C. Project and combined it with the U.T.O.P.I.A. Project she created in graduate school. She continues to teach children
in a Title I elementary school in Tucson, AZ.
